Backporch Collection:
Anybody who plays music knows the best music doesn't
come out of Nashville. That's why I offer here some
hard-if-not-impossible-to-find albums that represents
some of the best music West Virginia (and in some cases,
Southeast Ohio) has to offer.
Thus, I'm proud to offer CDs of some of my favorite artists,
most of whom, I've sat on a porch and picked with a time
or two.
With the exception of my good friend Johnny Staats, none
of these folks have ever had a fancy recording contract.

You won't find any Britanny Spears or whatever kids listen to nowadays
in the Elk River Harmonicas CD collection. What Elk does offer are
rarely-heard, quality bluegrass bands who fork down hard-earned cash
to record with the Elk River Harmonicas Backporch Collection, I'll later
have another collection for blues. The music they make is their own
sound. Most of these guys I have played with one many occasions.
Also, you'll find recordings of some of the best harmonica players
around, including the jazz sound of Hermine Deurloo, for whom, I will
admit, I have a thing for.
