In addition to the Elk River Special, I offer the Elk
Standard. They are both Seydel Solists with a
handsealed maple comb and feature the rounded
shape of the Elk River Special. They are signed and
distinguished by the lettering on the comb and
hand-engraving on the coverplate.
The ElkRiver Special
Rounded, comfortable shape.
Reeds arced and embossed.
Hand sealed maple comb.
Sharp look.
Reedplates and comb sanded flush for comfort.
Most standard keys and country and paddy richter
tunings available.
Keys G, A, Bb, B, C, D, E, F.... $80.
Country or Paddy Richter tuned also available.
The Elk River Standard is all of the above, except
the reedplates are stock. It has a sharp look,
rounded shape, but plays stock.

Elk River Special Harmonicas
Built from Seydel parts
- The Elk River Standard, $39.95, rounded shape,
classy look, stock reedplates and sealed comb.
- Original Elk River Special, $80 -It's back!
Classic-style harp made from Seydel Solist, reeds arced and embossed, sealed maple comb, reedplates and comb sanded flush, corners rounded.
Built from Hohner
- The Elk River Marine Band standard, $50. This
is a standard Marine Band in every way, except, and this is a BIG difference, it has a sealed comb.
- The Elk Antebellum, Ante bellum is Latin for "before
the war" and that's precisely what these are. These are ACTUAL PREWAR harmonicas cleaned and with sealed combs. These will vary in price and availability. See Antebellum page.

Tip: You can take one of my sealed (but otherwise stock) Marine Bands, they are $45, that's less than 10 bucks above retail for an unsealed Marine Band and open the backs like the prewar models. Just be careful and remember, when you learn something new, practice it on an old harp, I've destroyed quite a few while learning. My sealed Marine Bands, by the way, come with this modification.

No worries, Old School
Sealed Marine Band
Only $50, that's
not much above
retail for a Marine
Band without the
Marine Band fuss!
The wood comb on this Marine Band is sealed to
prevent swelling from playing. The comb teeth
are filed down to make it more comfortable,
reedplates sanded smooth and the back covers
opened up like the Prewars. The grace of a
Marine Band without the problems!
These harmonicas are primarily set up for blow and
draw bends. These are not specifically tailored to be
overblow harps. The standards have stock
reedplates.
