The saying in the harmonica world is "antique silverware is valuable. Antique harmonicas are just something that have been in someone else's mouth." In the 1920s, there were tens of millions sold in the U.S. each year. There are some rare exceptions, mostly novelty harmonicas (zeppelin shaped, etc.). Try looking at completed listings on Ebay to see how much your particular harmonica has been selling for.
No. Reeds are available in complete sets or reedplate sets only.
The lowest 12-hole Hohner 270 chromatic is the Db, which starts with a one blow note of Db3. The highest Hohner 270 is the C, which starts with a one-blow note of C4. Herings are the same way.
The standard Seydel C corresponds with the 270 in pitch, but the D and E models (believe it or not there used to be an F, it was really high in pitch!) are actually higher than the C. They start with a one blow of D4 and E4. If you want a D or E pitched like the Hohner 270, you need a Low D or a Low E.
The Seydel chromatic pitches are named the same as the diatonics. Thus the one blow of a G chromatic would be the same as the one blow of a G diatonic. The pitch of a Low C is one octave below the standard C (diatonic and chromatic) and so on.
Low C. It has a one blow note of C3.
The lowest is the Low, Low F, available in the Session and Favorite models. It is two octaves below the standard F harmonica.
You should look at one of the Superlow Favorites, especially the Low, Low F, which has a one blow note of F2. It's great for playing without waking up the kids.
Yes! We are proud to offer Seven Limit JI Tuning and Equal Temperment. Please add $15 per instrument. This feature is available only on brass reed instruments such as Solist Pro, Session and Favorite.
