About Dave Payne
I grew up on the banks of the Elk River
in Elkview, West Virginia and started
playing harmonica at the age of 5.
I graduated from Herbert Hoover High
School in 1994 and from
Alderson-Broaddus College, with a B.A.
in Writing and History in 1998.
I live in Parkersburg, West Virginia, with
my darling wife Julie and children
Audrey and David II.
Some tid bits:
I won an award for Best Investigative
Journalism from the West Virginia Press
Association.
I am descended from famous
frontiersman Adam O'Brien and am a
Mayflower descendant.
The Paynes were originally Vikings who
settled in Norman and came to England
with William's invasion of 1066.
